Why farm membership?
Kentucky Horse Council Farm membership is available to owners of farms which are actively involved in horse related activities and who derive income from those activities. Farm memberships are classified based on the number of employees as either small or large.
Liability Protection
Equine liability signs should be posted all all horse farms in Kentucky. As a KHC farm member you receive a free outdoor heavy duty liability sign guaranteed to meet the requirements of KRS 247.4027. Simply drop by the office to pick up yours or send KHC $5.00 to cover shipping.
As an equine professional it is important to have appropriate liability coverage. Through your Horse Council membership you may be eligible for discounted insurance rates through Equisure, Inc.
Voting
As a KHC Farm member you are entitled to up to two votes at the KHC annual membership meeting. Voting names shall be recorded on the membership form annually. Voting members must be eighteen years of age or older.
Use of the KHC Logo
KHC farm members may use the KHC logo ONLY with the words: "Member of the Kentucky Horse Council". Please contact the office for a high resolution digital copy of the KHC logo.
KHC does sponsor classes and events and only when an agreement is made between both parties can the KHC name or logo be used with the words sponsor or the implication of sponsorship. If you have questions about using the KHC logo please contact the KHC office by email or call 859-367-0509.
