Free Membership If You Belong to an Association That Has Joined KHC

Optional $1M Excess Personal Liability Insurance Policy

This policy protects you and your family from liability in the event that your horse causes injury or damage to another person or property, and legal action results. This covers ALL personal (non-commercial) horses you own, under a single policy, and covers you anywhere in the United States, not just Kentucky. This is an optional policy for individual and family members for an additional low premium cost.

Participation and Discounts through the NTRA Purchasing Program

Through the Kentucky Horse Council affiliation with the NTRA (National Thoroughbred Racing Association), you are eligible for discounts — regardless of the breed of horse you have — from such national companies such as John Deere, UPS, Budget Rentals, and more. For more information visit www.ntrapurchasing.com.

Free or Discounted Rates to KHC Sponsored Educational Programs and Seminars

The KY Horse Council routinely holds educational seminars and members are admitted either at no-charge, or at a discount.  In addition, seminars held at the Annual Conference each fall are free to KHC members. Seminar topics have included an array of equine health, property, legal, insurance, trails, and legislative issues addressed by recognized experts in the field.

Awards and Contests

KHC frequently runs contests and give awards for outstanding performance, volunteerism, etc.  Members are eligible for all awards and contests.

Networking Opportunities with Experts in the Horse Industry

As we work together on issues that affect all horse riders, KY Horse Council members have a chance to meet others with similar interests and to make a difference.  That includes opportunities to be on committees or workgroups, meet and talk at classes or the Annual Conference, or participate in online discussion groups.
