Kentucky horses may travel in, to and through the following states with a current Kentucky Equine Interstate Event Permit (EIEP) or Equine Passport (including coggins test): AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, VA, WV. Some states have additional requirement for entry using Kentucky EIEP;

Kentucky EIEP are good for in state travel for 12 months and for out of state travel for 6 months. The passports includes 3 photos of your horse. The EIEP application should be submitted with a coggins test and certificate of veterinary inspection.

Every state has different requirements for inter-state horse transport. When transporting horses to other states you should check with the office of the state veterinarian in the state in the state of your destination to ensure you are appropriately prepared.
