LIVESTOCK INVESTIGATION TRAINING: LEVEL 1
The Kentucky Horse Council will host their Livestock Investigation Training: Level 1 from July 10-12, in Lexington, KY. This course is offered to animal control officers, sheriffs, Kentucky law enforcement officials and prosecutors, and those running equine rescue and adoption organizations throughout the Commonwealth.
Enrollment is prioritized to law enforcement officers; prosecutors and judges; animal control officers, humane investigators and veterinarians employed or contracted with a government agency in Kentucky (sheriff, police, health department, etc.). Those not employed by a government agency will have a minimal registration fee. Out-of-state attendees are permitted as space allows as our priority is to accommodate Commonwealth officials. Please email sarah@kentuckyhorse.org for space availability if you are outside the state of Kentucky.
Attendees will learn how to handle horses and cattle, assess body condition score in both species, identify situations that need intervention, and apply Kentucky statutes to animal-associated court cases. Attendees also practice handling and evaluating live horses and cattle, as well as examining Kentucky statutes and enforcement procedures.
